Hairs spring from the skin, each having a root and a stem or shaft, which is generally rounded and varies and thickness. The chief part of the stem is of a fibrous character, the fibres being composed of soft cells with air spaces between them.

Hey, sorry about this…I know this doesn’t apply to you, but I had to mention it! :) Bit of an obvious one really, but I must stress that having dandruff is not a sign of poor hygiene, although poor hygiene can cause the condition. So, although you may be suffering from dandruff it does not automatically mean that your hygiene is poor.

Mix a two-to-one ratio of apple cider vinegar and warm water (two vinegar to one water). If you want to cleanse and condition your scalp further and add a fragrance to your hair then you can always a couple of drops of essential oils such as lavender or rosemary - both excellent for getting rid of itchy scalps and dandruff. (Always patch test oils for allergies, and always consult your doctor if you are pregnant).

When the cuticles get a healthy coating of sebum, a natural hair oil, the best shine is seen. And the hair that lacks the needed moisture to reflect light is considered to be the dull hair. Hair lacking the needed moisture and natural oils absorbs the light rather than reflecting it.
